Trial implant two hours ago

I literally just had my Boston Scientific SCS put in two hours ago. It was so easy. The only discomfort at all is my upper back where the leads were put in and that's not much at all. Although both the PM Doc and Rep for BS said I wouldn't notice much for 48 hours, I actually have a little relief for my sciatica. It has lowered the intense sharp pain. It isn't like a TENS unit at all. There is some tingling, but it is a soothing mellow feeling. No electrical shock. If what I have now at this stage even gets better, I am definitely going to be happy. I have had pain since 1991 where I broke my back during the Gulf War. I was supposed to have been paralyzed. My surgery was a complete failure and pain has been worse since then in 2007. I will update as time goes.

  • Today is day 2 of my trial. So far I am amazed. I keep it relatively low and my sciatic pain has been cut by 50% and low back from failed surgery about 25% so far. The Doc and Rep said that it will be about 2 days before I get full results. I am just a little sore on my upper back where the leads where inserted. My Doc said to mow my lawn if I wanted. He wants to know if the trial will work so do the things I want to do. Obviously, lifting is not appropriate. But, as far as pain after implant of trial is so slight. A bee sting is worse.
