Clay Daniel

i have bad scar tissue built up post-surgery from fusion at L-4 L-5 two years ago. Fusion healed up fine. Am now trying to get the tissue broken up by working with a chiro. He uses a jackhammer (my pet name for it). And he puts me on intersegmental roller table. Last week it hurt like hell. Not where the tissue is, it's alongside of the spine and higher up. This is like the  spinous process and at another L-1and 2. I have about 99% certainty it's the machine and it is painful 24/7.

Anybody ever experience this?

  • Hi @Jillybean079 Well, I've got no doctor. After 7 months the surgeon turned me loose. He said there was nothing else he could do. We did 4 X-rays and 2 MRI's during that period. The fusion is successful. No other problems are indicated.  My pain is a couple inches to the  side of surgical site. Surgery was Nov '15. He dismissed me in June '16. Since then I've seen a PMR twice, 2 pain specialists, and an orthopedic surgeon 4 times, had another X-ray and MRI. The orthopedic surgeon is the one who diagnosed the problem and recommended deep tissue massage to break up the scar tissue. That's what the doc is now working on. He also does physiotherapy. No adjustments or anything. That said I'm not discounting your comment at all and is something I need to think about more.  Thank you!
