Weakness in the back

For 2-3 months now I've had a strange weakness throughout my back. I can't describe it. My back doesn't hurt or anything, but it feels almost as if there are 10 stones resting on my spine and my spine is desperately trying to hold them up. Laying down doesn't help at all. I've never done anything to injure my back, I just woke up one morning with this feeling. It's really been hard to live with 24/7. Any ideas? I'm seeing a spine-specialist very soon.

  • Hello memerainbolt my appointment is on August 7. I will let you know what he says

  • I believe that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't feel too bad for your condition. I know there's always a solution to what you're experiencing right now. You should continue seeing a Physical therapist. If you have been diagnosed with a certain condition, do not hesitate to continue your therapy, also be open to other treatments regarding your lower back condition. Lately, a friend of mine happened to experience lower back pains too. she decided to go to the nearest Massage parlor, hoping that it'll go away. Happy to say, her back pain was treated by doing massage therapies for 5 consecutive days.

  • Hello faith101. I believe there is, as well. My condition isn't exactly pain or lower back. It's an extreme weakness of my mid-upper back. It's like that feeling some people get where their back is weak in the mornings, except it's much heavier and worse and it lasts 24/7. It's extremely uncomfortable. Massage might be helpful, but i think it's my spine that's weak rather than my back. Hopefully the doctor will know what's best.

Wishing you the best tomorrow on your spine appointment.  Finally you will hopefully get some answers and get those 10 stones of your back.  Keep us posted.

  • Hello Akira. The first appointment went well. The doctor checked the temperature of my spine and it was abnormal at the top of my neck right under the skull. I also had x-rays done and there was a very defined left curve near the bottom of my spine. I'm going back tomorrow as well. They are going to tell me if there is something they can do or not.

The chiroprator found what was causing the weakness in my spine. It's called Degenerative Disc Disease. It's where the discs in your spine start to thin. He said he can't fix it but he can stop it from getting worse
