  • I'm a 48 year old single gal, grandma of two wonderful kiddos, mobilized reservist (voluntarily 4 years), elementary teacher in real life (and ready to get back to it!! Excessive sitting the first two years of my mob (in Qatar) aggrevated the DDD and essentially made sitting impossible. I went through all the less invasive proceedures, but believed 1-navy broke me; they should fix me, and 2-I wanted the surgery while I was still healthy and strong enough to heal quickly and prior to nerve damage. Monday will be 2 measley weeks post op and I'm feeling great (and making sure I don't over-do)

  • Oh yeah...though I could not sit on chairs/benches for the last 3 years, somehow God allowed me to sit on my motorcycles (touring bikes - this is the latest version). I actually built a chair for work based on the bike seat...it allowed me to sit for at least part of the day. My goal - 46 down; 4 to go. Planning a trip east in 2009, Alaska in 2010 - God willing!! :-C
