Has your doctor sent you to a spine specialist, such as a neurosurgeon or neurologist? They could request diagnostic testing such as a MRI,  CT Scan or even X-rays. Has any f this been done?

    eryn

A short story about myself, I had 3 lumbar surgeries before I was 35, no problems until I was 50, I went through 3 neurosurgeons that basically said live with it, the pain was so bad that was not an option, I finally found a orthopedic spine surgeon who looked at my MRI and said I can help, you need fusion surgery and you need it now, 3 week later he operated and I felt the best I had in 3 years, moral of the story, don't give up and just settle, you hopefully have a long life ahead of you.

  • i get an xray done every 3 month and ct scan 2 month ago. my doctors have been watching my back for years they feel surgery will not benifit me at this point., and 2 of my doctors has said to me. too risky i had gbs a long time ago and it still flares up so between back and gbs i could lose my walking altogether. thats what i was told.

  • What kind of doctor's have said it is too risky?

eryn, what are they saying is wrong with your back? You are leaving things out in your discussion that makes it hard for us to reply. When you had the CT scan and X-Ray, what were you told about your spine?
I hate to keep asking questions but you still are leaving so much out.

  • they told me my spine and lower back dicinigrating due to a car accident years ago.  it showed damaged discs and inflamtion of my lower s1 joints. i have minor scholioases that was being irritated by it. they said there was nothing they could do at all they just gave me painkillers and cortisone shots

i asked to be refered to back specialist but my dr's told me they would not do anything that was being done. l3 and l4 were disingrating fast due to all the falls i have from my s1 joint and lower spine.like i said they told me a back dr could not do anything more then what they were doing.
