Jaw Clenching and the neck

So I'm not sure where to turn or where to start here. On one hand, I clench my jaw in my sleep very hard. At times it does lead to neck pain in the morning when I wake up, but usually not as bad lately. On the other hand, I have a lot of neck issues to begin with. My biggest concern is that if I opt to start to pursue a surgical route, would the jaw clenching just ruin the surgery? Should I just go get the jaw fixed first or is it possible that the neck issues could be the cause of the jaw clenching? I really don't have answers, and have not been running to many doctors to get answers, short of the chiropractor who has noted both issues. As anyone where with jaw clenching experienced relief after surgery? As anyone felt like the jaw clenching worsened things? Looking for advice indeed!
