Kimmerle's anomaly

Hi there, just wanted to share my experience, I have Kimmerle's anomaly, that's a pretty common thing, a little bony thing in the neck. As a teenager, I lost consciousness many times, and now I have problems with blood pressure, too, sometimes. But I'm over 40 and started to have pains in my neck recently. I just wanted to ask how to deal with it. The therapist advised just buying a firm mattress and orthopedic pillow. Do you have any ideas?

  • Well, thank you. Yes, I read a couple of articles, but they seem to be too complicated, speaking frankly. I just thought someone of members of this forum would recommend something based on their experience. I mean, of course, I'll follow my therapist's recommendation. I'm reading reviews of orthopedic pillows and mattress right now and will buy one, I started doing exercises in the morning, but is this a forum or more like info website?

    Snowdrop

This forum is both. All of our articles are very comprehensive and written by doctors. To be frank also, no one has ever said the articles were too complicated. Before I send someone a link to one of our articles, I always read them to make sure this pertains to the member's issues.

If it were me, before I would by a new mattress, I would see a specialist. Especially since you stated you are having blood pressure problems.

Take care and keep us posted.

  • I've told you already, that was my therapist's recommendation about the mattress :) He said that I could not do anything with this bony thing in my neck, just casual things like a new mattress and massage to get things a little better. The articles are great! :) I mean, they are not like "I'll read one on the coffee break" type. You really need to sit and google things to understand everything. And I guess that's not a medical thing, so you do not have any recommendation about which pillow is better. I'm looking through some reviews, but have no idea who wrote them, they listed mattresses for neck pain, though

Per the rules, we cannot mention brand names or places of business. That is why we cannot recommend a specific pillow or mattress. I have been looking for a "cooling"pillow so I went to where I always shop on the internet and found one. Of course I read all of the reviews and found one. I looked at the Better Business reviews of the top 10.

    Good luck,
    Sandra
