iFuse post surgical pain

Four weeks post iFuse Left SI joint fusion. A week ago I was doing very well and able to decrease meds. Then pain started to increase in one specific area.  I’ve had to increase my meds to what they were immediately post surgery.  I called my doc he said ditch crutches and rest and start PT.  I can’t start for 2 weeks.  Each day the pain is getting worse so much that my pain meds are barely touching it.  Anyone else have this experience? No s/s of infection- fever or redness.  I’m concerned about fracture, moved or broken implants or rejection.

You said the pain is in a specific area. Where exactly is it?

  • It was where probably to top implant would be.  But it resolved a few days later and I’m doing great now!!! My doc said I probably just tweaked something.  He also said that is somewhat expected as you begin to do more.  Slow and steady wins the race.  Can’t wait to start PT next week!!
