Spinal cord stimulator

I had my permanent surgery June 5th and my incision site still hurts and I am a very strong person and normally I can  overlook a lot of pain but not this and I truly thought I would feel good by now , can anyone give me some advice? I see a pain specialist next week since I have received neuropathy from this surgery around the incision but now my incision just hurts and more if you touch it ? I have waited for this appointment for 2 months ! I am about to go nuts with this and could just use a little advice from someone who might have gone through this on what you did or what they did for you to make it feel better just please give me a little hope?

  • shyann30144 - Have you tried contacting the surgeon's office that did the stimulator implant?  Since it is only a little over two months after the implant and you are having incision site issues, I know my surgeon that did my implant would want to know of my implant site issues.

  • Did you have paddle leads installed via a laminectomy? I am two years out of stim surgery and the laminectomy / paddle lead site still gives me fits. Feels like a tornequate being tightened between my shoulders.

  • My surgeon just sent me to his pain clinic and I went and seen her today and  she is worried there is a infection or I have a leak so she ordered labs and placed a order for a bone scan god I hope not a leak. She was a very nice pain dr. And did say we will get to the bottom of this ASAP

  • shyann30144 - From your comments, it sounds like the person you saw at the pain clinic is listening to you and working with you.  One needs to work with whoever will advocate your case.  Please keep us updated.

  • Thanks yes I truly believe she is and I will keep everyone posted as soon as I know anything.
