  • Welcome cynarm we’re glad you’re here!

I have been taking Gabapentin for several years and it works for me, but it is a medication that requires close supervision, you are usually started on a low dose and moved up to the right dose, your doctor should be able to steer you in the right direction if he/she thinks it's appropriate for you.

  • Dd you use gapapentin before surgery?  Did your surgeon suggest gabapentin as part of pain management for post-op recovery?

Different people vary on how much and even if they can use gabapentin.  If you do go to to use gabapentin, make sure you ramp up on your dosage.  From my experience, it is best for me to use the minimal amount that is needed for manageable relief.  When tapering down, make sue you do it slowly.  There are guidelines on drug medical websites.
