Well folks, I have been an inpatient in the hospital since October 15th, a week tomorrow. I had gone in to the ER for the 3rd time in 4 days and would not accept another pain shot and then be sent home. My doc had me admitted so that I could finally see the Abdominal Surgeon I was still waiting to get an appointment with. After several days of waiting for the scope of my belly to be done, I was kept comfortable with an IV of Dilaudid, Ativan, and other things. They did the scope yesterday. GOOD NEWS>>> no adhesions in my belly!! YEAH!!!

BAD NEWS>>> my ovaries are both covered in cysts, some the size of a walnut. I also have scarred up fallopian tubes from various Infections that I have had and didn't even KNOW I had. A biopsy was taken of the tissue in my tubes and my ovary. The "C" word was mentioned. I am scared to death but trying to keep my head about me.

SO, surgery yesterday found my female organs in really bad shape and with possible ovarian cancer. TOMORROW at 1230p central time I am going for a complete hysterectomy ovaries and all. He will have the path report before surgery as if it IS cancer, the surgery will be more extensive. I am NPO in about 2 hours and I think I am going to go out with a bang and have Lime Sherbert..... mmmmmmmm.

Mike managed to get my laptop to hook up here at the hospital thru the AT and T dial up we have at home so this is pretty cool to beable to get on here my self and give you all the low down. Sure would have been nice to have it last week when all I was doing was playing the waiting game, but better late than never.

Doc says that I will probably go home this weekend on Saturday. I know ALL the nurses on ALL the shifts and they have been simply awesome. I have been pretty lucky all things considered.

Well, I guess that is all I know for now. Please pray for me and over the surgeons hands that will be doing the surgery. Pray that there is no cancer. I would really appreciate it very much.

I love you all,

I am sorry you have had to deal with all this. You are a strong person.

    Keep strong.
  • Hi Amy,

Here's hoping by the time you read this you will be feeling much much better. I hope and pray you don't have cancer. If you do, I hope its very early and and curable. Even though you are in the hospital, you sound a lot better then last week. I think its because something is finally being done instead of just sitting and waiting.

Here's hoping you just get better everyday from now on,
