After fully waking up and getting pain level down. I decided that I felt I was going to have a pretty good day. So thinking of all of the "undone, things to do list" I would tackle a bunch of it. Then I thought, Ive been down this road before. Maybe I'll do half of the list. I'll feel good about the day and myself.
Well wait a minute, I'm setting myself up for defeat and depression.
So plan A will be do x,y,&z. plan B will be do x&y Plan C will be do x and try to be satisfied.
I managed to get plan B done, with a little help from my pain meds and not do to much damage to my back.
So I'll accept that with joy.
I think learning "acceptance" is 90% of the game!
Good luck, Jim

  • I like you have my list. But for now instead of ticking things off of it and paying for it later I have a daily accomplishment goal. One day it was just to clean my bathroom. It had been neglected for far too long. (Helpful hint on cleaning a tub after surgery. Mops work pretty good.) So I knew if I could get just that done I would feel good about accomplishing something for that day. You made it at least to Plan B. That should make you feel like superman! :)))
  • It sounds like you are coming along in your way of thinking and learning as you go.
