and my husband is home after the accident still in pain, and largely bedridden. He has four broken vertebrae and is largely bedridden. Please tell me if anyone has experienced this type of injury and if without surgery you healed. I am concerned without rehabilitation (we are trying to get it for him now at home) if your healing was helped or hindered.

Thank you for your feedback , this journey is a little like I imagine skydiving to feel... loss of gravity, shortness of breath and a lot of unknown perspectives.

  • Can you call Community care access? Or social services? Perhaps they have volunteer services or if you attend church some relief to help clean the house or something. I'm really sorry and hope you can get some help. Charry

  • I don't know where you live but the US needs to really get it's health care system 'healthy'! I was in Japan this summer to visit my aunt who had a hip replacement at 86 and the PT hospital she was at was WONDERFUL and the nurses kind and professional. All FREE expect for some items of clothing, food, etc!

In our state you can ask for state health insuranace after not having it for 6 months-please call your state Medicaid office to see if your family qualifies. If he was in the armed services, he may have health benefits through them. These resources takes time to find but call your community or city offices and see if you can get free help. Our town has care for the people without insurance through an organization called Volunteers in Medicine. Your's may too, or a town near you may have it. You can also look online for phyiscal therapies to help with back issues. And chiropractors usually do not cost as much as PT hospitals.

Good luck and I am praying for help to come to your family soon.
