Hi folks, I'm new to the site but by no means new to lower back problems. To make it short, I had a microdiscectomy in Nov 2003 for a herniated L4-L5 disc. The surgeon removed a piece of the facet bone but left the disc intact. The sciatica pain returned 6 months later and gradually worsened. Alternative treatments did not work. On top of that I developed nerve damage symptoms three weeks later, in my left leg and both feet. Doctors would not link it to the surgery but I have my suspicions.
Anyway It's back to surgery to try to fix it again. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with the Edited or the Edited.
Chuck

  • :) hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. we do not give specific information here on the forum about doctors or facilities. we can give you our personal experiences in general and i hope that will be of some help to you.. i am sure others will drop by with some good information. please be sure and get that second opinion if you do find surgery to be the best solution. :? good luck as you seek pain relief. Jenny :)
  • but not at either of the places that you mention. Please search the archived posts here and you will find lots of info about 1 of those places. Good luck to you and please keep us posted.
BTW- I think that you may be correct about the fact that most docs are just reluctant to point the finger at another doc whether they suspect an issue or not.

  • Thank you lulusheart and also painintheback for your responses. I will talk with a neurosurgeon in four days. Must make decision about having surgery done locally (My previous microdiscectomy done local 5 yrs ago was unsat and did not fix the problem) or at an out-of-state facility. I dont need names of doctors or clinics---general locations will do. Just want to make sure I get it right this time. I have L2-L3, L4-L5 herniations, foraminal stenosis and L5-S1 endplate and facet hypertophy. Also left leg sciatica. Again thanks for the support. All comments are welcome.
