I am going to see a second surgeon to set up for a minimally invasive thoracic surgery to remove the mass from my spine. Anybody know what this is?
Have you had it done?
They say that they would use like a tube to perform the surgery.

Please help me if you can as I am not too sure of this. The mass is on T7/T8.

Hope to hear back from you soon.

i cant say that i know anything about the type of surgery you just described.
when it was a chance for thoracic surgery for me, it was a very complicated procedure and not all neurosurgeons could perform it.

it meant going in through front, cracking your breastbone, moving aside a lung to get at the disc. far from being minimally invasive!

here is a link right here on spine-health you can review:
  • I had one of those invasive thoracic surgeries. Mine had to be invasive because the mass was inside my bone (T8). It sounds like your mass must be more accessible, which is probably good news. Invasive thoracic surgery (thoracotomy) is pretty serious.

If the second surgeon opts for invasive surgery, I'd be glad to give you my experience. Good luck with your appointment.
