Hi Just joined today.
I have been dealing with back pain since Dec 08. Anyhoo just had a diskogram done this week and they finialy found out that my L4/L5 is causeing 100% of my back pain. However when the Dr started inflating my L5/S1 I felt nothing, he put in 3 times the normal amount, just to see if he could recreat my leg pain. And I felt nothing. I haven't yet seen my Surgen to get the full report. However the Dr that did this said that this disk is so bad he could inject and inject and I would never feel the pain that I did on the L4/L5 one. Why is this? And should I prepare myself for a fusion?

for any and all conments.

  • I will be seeing a neurosurgeon Oct.9th

I had a discectomy back in 2002 and went almost six years pain free and bam the pain is back. This time the pain is mostly in my lower back, but sometimes my leg as well. Very different than last time. The Dr that did the discogram told me that there is no major bulging dics and he says a discectomy isn't going to help this time. Bascily I worried about going through another back surgery, but need to do somthing so I can get back to my life with out taking 6 to 8 oxycodone a day.

One more thing I guessing that I am not the only one that has went throught heck trying to figure out what was causing my pain. I've had 2 MRI's 1 CT scan and then the dicsogram. I hate to say it but thank god for the dicsogram procedure.
