Hi to everyone here in the forum. I am new to this forum, I am a 38 year old male who lives in Canada. I suffer from wicked lower back pain plus I have arthritis in my hips & knees. I am seeking advice and input on how I can treat my back pain. I am currently taking percocet & oxycontin for the pain.

  • have a good look around at all the info on this site.
a little more about your symptoms would get some more response.
also you are double posting, makes it hard work for others to keep track of your posts.
    welcome aboard
  • Hi there Dale,

You don't say whether you've had an MRI carried out on your spine? However, Shirley has given you good advice; get acquainted with the site and read up on your particular condition. There are some excellent articles, so here's one to get you started:-

Once you've identified your problem, then please do post it under the 'lower back pain' topic, if you feel this is the best place for it!

    All the best to you,

  • I was diagnosed with having scoliosis in the middle of my spine and osteoarthritis in my lower spine. Since the diagnosis of scoliosis I have lost about 4 to 5" of height.
  • Hi Dale,

That's a lot of height-loss! Well this may be a better place for you to read up on your condition:-

Oxycontin is an excellent analgesic; you might want to ask your doctor about taking anti-inflammatories for the osteoarthritis causing the 'wicked pain' in your lower back.
