I've seen a neurologist for 2-3 yrs now with no improvement. Meds: Lyrica, Venofaxline, Pristiq, Neurontin, Tramadol can't take at work make me too sleepy or out of it. I've stuck with Lidoderm pain patches, naproxen, tens unit, and bio freeze but these are only help with pain a little. Been to PT too expensive really only helping with the pain for an hour then I'm back in the same pain. I'm off balance numbness in rt leg, a lot of pain lower back. Dr. told me it was fibromyalgia and rt hip bursitis. I'm 44 yrs old I live in Panama City Beach, FL. Any suggestions would be great thanks

  • Hi,

I agree that you may want to seek a Spine Specialist. Neurologist are nerve. If you find a Neurosurgeon focused on the spine (not brain) or Orthopedic Spine specialist, you may be able to get a root cause of your pain.

I am not a doctor but your symptoms do sound similar to mine. I have numbness and weakness in my left leg and it is the result of my sciatic nerve being compressed in the lumbar region. The hip issues (bursitis) could easily be from compensating for the issues in your leg. Is the hip pain on the same side as the leg?

I was having hip problems as a result of compensating for my leg issues. I've learned stretches to help alleviate that. Of course I'm having some knee issues now but I do know it's due to compensating for no left ankle reflex, weak left leg, and left leg numbness.
