I'm so happy to have ound yall. After muddling around among folks who tried to empathize, but didn't fully understand, it's comforting to have someplace to reach out & touch somebody.
Thinking bck, I think my problems started quite a few years back when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had a hysterectome about 4 years ago, because of recurrent lower abdominal & back pain.
In the last 1 1/2 years, the pain started shooting down my left leg. Finally had an MRI in may that showed a bulging disc @ L5-S1, with degeneration & a nerve root sheath cyst @ T12-L1. Doctor prescribed oral steriods, then anti-inflamatories & recently a series of ESI's. They refused to administer 3rd injection, because I was steadily getting worse.
Over the last 3 months, the pain has become excruciating & I've been forced to take a leave from my job, because when I'd get home after sitting behind a desk all day, I'd be writhing in pain.
Recently, the pains in my lower abdomen have returned, along with the sciatica & numbness in my left foot. I have an appointment with a surgeon on 9-20. My PCP seems to think that surgery is my best option at this point. He has only given me 10mg of lortab, 4 times daily & muscle relaxers. They aren't even touching it anymore.
Anyway, I'm hoping to be able to offer as much support as I receive. Thanks for listening, Juva
