that "get this"and relate being a spiney. family and friends or normals just cant relate , it makes you feel so isolated with whats happening to all aspects of your life, the physical, emotional, the losses and of course the pain with longstanding , current and ongoing spinal issues. its a scarey ride and im hoping to feel " at home " here , where you all seem to "get it ". ive read a few posts and can certainly relate and empthasize with many of you .hoping to help when i can , gain some insights and get some support
flower , nice to be meeting some of you :T

  • Hello health lovers,

Most welcome in our healthy family.

wish you enjoy every post here.:)
  • for such a warm welcome . :) gosh where to start. i have a 30 year history of cervical and lumbar, and a few years ago of thoracic. my problems that have been scanned are cervical and lumbar, not thoracic yet, (gosh i dont really want to no wats happening there , but i will get scans there in the future) have severe issues from c1 to T1 and more advanced from c4 to T1, narrowing of all cervical discs , sclerosis of srticular margins and stuffed facet joints , loss of cartilage , bone on bone, the exit foraminal have osteophtye encroachment and narrowing on both sides, with osteophytes bulging posterioly between c5 and t1 which is impinging on the spinal cord ,and the lateral nerve roots.
narrowing of of exit foramina with osteophyte encroachmentcompressing the nerve roots between c5 and t1. the cervical is from a ct scan done 21 months ago.

lumbar is a mess (neurosurgeons words) lol loss my glasses , yes they were on top of my head , der .
lumbar, l2-l3 ostoephyes and and hypertrophy of facet joints, l3-l4same as above, l4 - l5, 20 year old massive disc shattering leaving me with complete loss of motor function in legs and no reflexes and permanant nerve damage , refused surgewry and made somwhat of a recovery over 3 years to regain use of legs . continuois pain /probs since . complete loss of disc at l4 - l5, due to long ago sequel to massive disc rupture and loss of endplates leaving vertebrae rubbing on vertebrea , osteophyte contacting l5 nerve root left and right sides.mild scoliosis in lumbar. early aquired spinal canal stenosis at l4-l5 and l5 -s1.
gosh i should have condensed this post lol , got on a roll .
    comments , support , very welcome , flower :)
  • Welcome to Spine-Health. This site has some great articles and videos that you might want to check out and you have indeed found a place in the forums where we can relate to what you're going through.

We have all faced family, friends, coworkers, etc. who have no idea what it's like to be a spiney, be in pain all or most of the time as much as they may try.

But here, you aren't judged. You'll be offered support, share in others' experiences and find friends that you may have for life.

I wish you the best with your spine issues and am glad you've found us. If there's anything I can do to help you, don't hesitate to PM me. I look forward to seeing you around the forums.

    Cath
  • for your warm welcome and support, it truley takes another spiney to understand the complex issues , fears , pain , limitations that impacts our lives on such an ongoing basis . greiving for what we use to be able to do and frustration at what we cant , having to find that place to mentally and physically adjust. thats hard stuff. i was allways active , but having longstanding spinal and cervical issues , ive had time to adjust and work things differently , untill 2 yrs ago when things got much worse again.
i have checked out some of the fine articles here on sh and find them very helpfull and informative
