Hey Guys Im new to the forum and would like to share my experience and ask for advice.
I got surgery done on july 20th, one month ago and I have been pretty careful of not doing anything too strenuos..I used to get severe leg pain and numbness but after surgery I was perfect, no pain at all no numbness either but until 3 days ago I have been getting very slight pain in my left leg at certain moments of the day and some back pain on the right side above my lumbar like by my rib cage. I am scared I have got a reherniation. Is this normal? any advice?
thanks in advance.

  • Do not get scared just yet. Your surgery is relatively new and there is a considerable amount of inflammation that persists post operatively. In addition, the "under the ribs" pain can be from compensatory movements either recently or preoperatively, and/or new/old muscle spasms. I think if reherniation occurs you would most likely have many of the symptoms you did pre-surgery. I had back surgery myself, so I know what you're going through. If you have not gone to physical therapy, I strongly suggest you consider it. Try find someone reputable. Hang in there and Best Regards.
