Hi all....long time no speak. To make a very long story short, the pain management center that I'm seen at is no longer taking Virginia Medicaid effective October 1st, 2011. I have searched the internet and used every resource I can think of, and I cannot find another pain management doctor that will accept Virginia medicaid. I have looked within a four hour radius of my home, which is in Southwestern Virginia. I have searched in North Carolina as well. The only one that I found in NC that accepted medicaid reviewed my file and said they could not help me, which I found to be astounding. A recap- I have a L-5 lumbar radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, as well as anxiety and depression disorders. I have contacted Medicaid on two different occasions, only to be informed that they do not have a list of "pain doctors" and to use the phone book. My primary care physician just called to inform me that they had exhausted every resource and they don't know what to do. Can anyone help me by recommending a physician or another resource to use?

    formal and local channels.

I am not sure how much more we could be of any assistance. Unless there is a member from your area that has more input.

However, this type of information should be handled in private messages and not on the public forums.
  • Sorry...I didn't see a reason for it to be handled in private, we are discussing public information. :/
