Ok so, this is my first time being registered with a 'forum' but figured if I'm not getting anywhere with my new doctors & no one to talk too who understands what I'm feeling, I may find some answers or support through here. Here goes, this is me...
I have suffered with this chronic back pain since I was 15 years old, this meant fighting with Doctors & teachers that I wasn't faking to get out of P.E!
Since then, I've been so adamant this won't get me down no matter how bad things get. I'm now 24 & finally giving up on that idea!
I have a wonderful husband who loves me & cares for me, pretty much since we met nearly 4 years ago, he's only 25 & a full time carer who can't work through looking after me. He supports me unconditionally but also wants answers for my sake. I've had so much treatment through the pain clinic, such as; physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, epidural injections, facet joint injections, & recently the radio frequency Denervation. Nothing has worked & I'm beginning to give up. I was told by my consultant that there are more 'unattractive' alternatives but what does this include? I was told I have the spine of a 60 year old & that my back is stiffer than a plank of wood! I've only ever had speculation on what the problem might be, no name or cause! I also crave children, I can't get it out of my head but it's just not possible on all the meds which is why this denervation was meant to give me at least 6 months of pain relief without the meds! I just can't see a light at the end of the tunnel, I'm at a bad point right now, I haven't been able to leave my sofa so I've just spoken to my doctor to yet again start on the buproadenophine patches again, back to sickness every day.
Does anyone have any advice?

  • Have you had an MRI or CT to be told you have the spine of a 60 year old?

    What is your diagnosis?

Sorry you are so young and in such pain.
