  • You must contact your surgeon. I don't think you should be suffering like this. I recently had fusion and at one of my follow-ups he explained that at about 1year-18months thre is a possibility that you will needd the hardware removed. He said my body will present with pain, like when I try and put my shoes on...a pulling, burning pain. Its sounds to me like you have not had any pain relief since your surgery. Please contact your deserve some answers and some relief! Good luck and keep us informed. Ellen

    Hi Geminigirl1965,

I had lumbar fusion to L4/5/S1 in December 2008 and am still getting pain particularly in my legs and feet so my Surgeon has elected to give me Nerve Block Injections to both sides of lumbar area. I had first injection to right side several weeks ago and the pain in my right leg/foot has almost disappeared which is brilliant so hope it lasts. I get left side done on 1st November so hope I get the same result. Only trouble is it takes about 12 hours after injection to walk properly. Suggest you mention this to your Surgeon. I am in UK - Herts. Good luck.
