Know anyone with considerable experience with this procedure?????

  • paulo, looked at the coflex procedure. it's interesting information.

(note for others; coflex is an interspinous process device designed to open the foramen whilst retaining vertebrae motion without fusion. see https://www.spine-health.com/treatment/spinal-fusion/interspinous-process-spacers )

i note that the fda granted pma (pre market approval) approval recently in oct 2012. https://forum.veritashealth.com/treatment/back-surgery-and-neck-surgery/press-release-coflex-fda-approved-october

interesting that these types of devices were not discussed with me by my surgeon.

using the search function with coflex as the keyword, you will get some previous posts.
  • I spoke to dr. And did a lot of research including FDA approval. It is called interlaminar. It's not x-stop which has failed. It goes in deeper even though it is the same minimally invasive so it is not on spinous processes which are not very secure. If your stenosis is exactly what was FDA studied the results are very good.
