I have been seeing a Rheumatologist for 2 years now complaining of neck and joint pain accompanied by constant fatigue and headaches. I was referred to that department due to a positive ANA found during bloodtests. In June I went in again with severe neck pain only in the back of my neck specifically at the base of my skull. This is pretty intolerable and debilitating. I just turned 40 in August and have had no injury to have caused any of my issues and pains. An MRI was ordered of my cervical spine and the results are as follows.:
Findings: There is a mild reversal of the normal cervical lordosis centered at C5-6 with very slight retrolisthesis of C5 on C6. Vertebral body heights are preserved. No abnormal marrow signal is seen. The cervical cord maintains normal signal and morphology. Visualized posterior fossa structures are unremarkable. Multilevel degenerative changes will be described below.
C1-2: [No significant spinal canal stenosis.]
C2-3: [No significant spinal canal stenosis.]
C3-4: [No significant spinal canal stenosis.]
C4-5: [Mild disc osteophyte complex slightly eccentric to the right. No significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.]
C5-6: [Broad-based disc osteophyte complex moderately narrowing the ventral subarachnoid space and nearly contacting the ventral cord. No cord compression or significan foraminal stenosis.
C6-7: [Minimal disc osteophyte complex centrally without significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.]
C7-T1: [Moderate facet degenerative changes. No significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.}
I feel helpless and like my doctor doesn't understand anything that I am feeling. I have 4 kids that I am trying to raise and am so tired and impaired that I am having troubles being the mother that I am used to being.
