Hi,
A few months ago I Underwent a single level ACDF.

Now I just find out the the 2discs above the surgery site are bulging/herniated.
I have read about a single adjacent level sometimes being affected, but not about 2 levels above.

I am soooo frustrated.

Has this happened to anyone else so soon after surgery?

Thanks,

Mrtony

  • Hi,
    Yes, I do understand that.
Immediately prior to my one level surgery the levels above we all in order.
I have been experiencing ongoing pain problems, in most cases worse than before e surgery.
Now the 2 discs above are herniated and apparently the cause of my pain.
I go for an EMG this week hopefully.
I was just wondering how common this is this soon after surgery. If they were indeed caused by the surgery of the stiffness of the new fusion.
Anyhow, this is a real bummer. I was expecting to be good to go for at least 5 or 10 years until I maybe had other developing issues.
Now it appears that is not the case.

    Thanks,

    Mrtony
