Failed acdf ?

7/16/2013 acdf c5-7 with hardware, spurs removed and foramen cleaned out . 9/9/2013 returned to work , then pain returned. Everything looked good on one month post op films. I was told that the pain was just part of the process. 1/13/2014 saw NS with c/o pain, fatigue and hump on upper back below c7. New films show fusion of c5-6 and failed fusion c6-7. MRI this afternoon. Im trying to stay cool, but lack of sleep, just getting through the work day with pain to go home and take lortab on the couch with heating pad is no way to live even at age 50!!!!

I had the same experience with C5-7 with a little different twist. C5-6 were successfully fused in 1991. C6-7 were unsuccessfully fused in 1996 but I did not know. In 2013 I sneezed and heard a crack followed by intense pain. It
was later discover via ct scan, MRI and flex studies the screws of my Hardware broke because because the fusion never took. Well what a surprise. I am now recovering from repeat surgery having both anterior and posterior repair and rods inserted. I am recovering slowly.
