What can make mild scoliosis worse?

I was told I have mild scoliosis when I was 16 or 17 & they didn't suggest a brace, they didn't do anything until I noticed some changes a year or so later and they sent me to a physical therapist who gave me some exercises. Im 21 now and wondering if there is anything I should avoid to keep it from progressing...and are there any exercises you should avoid? Thanks so much :)

You have good questions ... And best to answer may be your therapist, esp if therapist is in good communication with doctor.
Also, doctor best person to ask. It's good you are thinking it may be possible you need to avoid activities to continue healing and not risking to worsen whatever is going on.

Everyone with spinal issues so individualized are the treatments.
Keep us updated with how you are doing.......and good luck!

  • Thank you so much for your reply! Unfortunately the therapist was only a one time visit and I don't have a regular therapist. Do you know if when you stop growing, it might slow down or stop? Thank you for your time!

......anyone being able to tell you.
They may tell you their story......but that's not your to become unduly optomistic or pessimistic with guesses is a waste of healing energy.
    Again.....everyone's situation is very different.
The only one who can answer and guide you through.......again, very good your doctor.

Continue to ask doctor till you fully understand.

Let us know what he says....keep in touch
