Hello - Glad I Found This Site

I've been dealing with lower back pain since August 2014. MRI shows herniated disc at L4/L5 and issues at L5/S1. I've been thru all the conservative treatments (chiro, PT, Lyrica, etc...) but nothing helped. Nerve pain downmy left leg is horrible. I can't sleep because of the pain.

I am deathly afraid of spinal injections or spine surgery. So afraid that i gave birth to two daughters with no epidurals. I have a high tolerance for pain but have never felt pain like nerve pain. There are no words!

After much consideration, I will be having microscopic laminotomy and discectomy on June 16. I'm still afraid but believe this will help.

I have read a lot of positive posts (trying to stay away from any negative posts) and have found some comfort. I hope to continue on this site thru my surgery and recovery in the hopes of finding support. I also hope my posts will help someone else out there.

My motivational phrase is "let's do this".

Thank you for reading!!
