Bulging discs and cortisone shots

Hi! I'm new and need a little feedback please. A few years ago I had lower back pain and my right leg would give out without warning and was numb . I had an MRI that showed 5 bulging discs , DJD and a few tears. With PT the legs got better but needed cortisone for the pain. Last year I went to a chiropractor and got cortisone shots as well . ( 1 visit to chiropractior then neurologist again for shots). This time around I picked up a bag of trash and felt my back pull and pop hard. Pain was instant . I babied it and it seemed to go away. I started a new job that required steel toed boots and being on my feet all day. My back started hurting and when I woke up the next day I couldn't bend over to get clothes on and it felt like it was sticking . I resigned until I could get in to get shots. I had to wait a month to get in so I got a part time job as a house keeper . Three days into it the pain was unbareable. The next day I got multiple shots in my back . It's been three days since then and my pain is getting worse. She said I needed PT or a chiropractor to release my back ( for sciatica). The pain is now in my left hip and top part of my buttocks . What do I do? Why didn't the shots work this time ?
