My name is Danielle and my age now is 36. I am currently applying for disability. I have had back issues since I was 21. Just last Dec. I was given a MRI. I had been trying to get this done since I was 21. At that time in my life I injured myself and lost the use of my left leg. Unfortunately, I did not have.....and still do not have any insurance. Since I am native american I use the Indian clinic.
Back when I was 21 the clinic referee me to a neurologist. He proceeded to tell me the weakness in my leg was all in my head. He had a CT of my back and told me the results were inconclusive. So, I went home thinking this was it for the rest of my life. I could not live alone. Friends from highschool moved in helping me to the bathroom.... helping with showers...cooking meals. But slowly I started getting use of my leg back over two to three months. I remember taking slow short walks to get my mobility back. By six months I was almost back to my pre-injury condition.
Fast forward to present day...here I am again. But this time the pain...PAIN...gets to be unbearable at times. Now my left leg is numb on the right side. The numbness runs from my knee to the foot. Although, there is numbness, why do I still have to feel that shocking pain? I don't understand why it feels like pain and pressure to my coccyx. So, I am here hoping I can get any advice about my condition. Also, I just need somewhere I can come and express myself with others that understand this misery.
Sorry for the long post...
