How do you recover from a fall after surgery?

  • I had a microdiscectomy (right L5/S1) two weeks ago. At my two week surgery anniversary, I fainted and fell on the bathroom floor - twice in a row. My head hurt but nothing else felt different. My blood pressure was really low. My husband was there and he says I was able to get up and keep my spine straight, but I am scared to death that I have hurt myself. I was having sciatica already post-surgery and it has persisted, but I'm not sure if it is worse or the same as before. Anyway, I saw my surgeon and we are just in a holding pattern to see how I feel over the next few weeks. For folks who have fallen and gotten up since surgery, how are things going? Any reassuring words?
