Chronic, Undiagnosed Neck/Shoulder Muscle Pain, Tension Headaches

  • I had a disc herniation at C5/C6 and I had fusion surgery to "fix" it . It does work for most people depending on the severity of the herniation and such. I had a severe herniation that damaged my spinal cord permanently. It has affected me greatly but I would be even worse off if I hadn't done it. I have severe headaches that I have to treat daily from it but the reason for the headaches is the damage. Trust what your doctor says if you trust them but don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

So PCP referred me to a pain management doctor, physical therapy and prescribed Lyrica and Soma. We will see what they say. I am a little nervous about this route. I feel like maybe I should see a spine specialist? Definitely don't want surgery if I don't have too, but don't want to have to live with pain either!
