Support from others with similar issues

Hi, my name is Cita
This is new for me to look to spine health for some support. I have been a spine health subcriber for quite a few years. Like all of you I have spine issues. My support at home has dwindled dramatically. I'm looking for others to support me through my latest surgery. Its been a big one and keeps me isolated from pretty much everything exept P/T and the grocery store. I don't live alone but I feel alone. I do have hobbies but the emotional toll this has taken on me doesnt give me much desire to do them. I'm just feeling lonely. I have recovery to talk about but that's it and no one wants to
hear about that anymore. My recovery will take 1 year. That's a long time to go. Is there anyone else who is feeling the loneliness of the isolation during recovery who just needs to talk about anything. It doesn't even need to be spine related. Aren't some of us just tired of talking about our backs ?

Welcome Cita!  It's a bit of a catch 22:  you don't want to be 'that person' who can only talk about their back, their pain, their recovery, but when that is what most of your life is about, you end up not having much else to talk about!  I try to - for my own sanity - have other interests in my life that I can talk about.  It's not easy, but it is a good practice to get your mind off of the misery you are living with the majority of the time.  This is a good community where you can vent and get support, but also offer hope and encouragement to others.  I wish you every success in your recovery!
