Hurt my lower back while doing leg press

Hello.

While doing leg press exercise i hard a big cracking sound as if I've broken my bone &  then there was a complete blackout..  Ambulance took me to the hospital but there the doc asked me to pull my leg up & said it's nothing &  prescribed few meds.
Is this OK? The pain is there. He asked me to do full bed rest &  see him after 3 days. Please suggest

  • Hi Rana_Cena

I totally agree with Kimmy72. Get referred to a spine specialist.

Years ago I was told not to use the leg press while I was in re-hab from disc herniation. My trainer would not include this or running on the treadmill in my program. Progressive walking on the treadmill only.our comment

Also your comment about leg lift concerns me as well. Even at my worse just before surgery for my discectomy I was able to raise my legs normally without pain. The physio's eyes nearly popped out as he couldn't believe I could do that with the previous surgery and my level of damage in my lumbar.

Please keep us posted on your progress

"No pain, no gain" quote that can be found all over in gyms shows a lot of ignorance pushing people. Would be nice if also risks would be underlined.
Anyhow I subscribed to advice about seeing a spine specialist.
Also I have to tell you that I continue to go to gym after an episode of sever pain, I continued with wrong exercise and in 1 year I was bearly able to walk. After that years of back and leg pain follow by back surgery.
So, be careful and listen to your body. Reconsider your training program and if something is causing you back pain or back stiffness after rest then stop doing that.
