    Pilates is just a name for a variety of exercises.
    I saw instructors that offer back exercises with spine always in neutral position and others that promote extrem bending from upright that could completely damage an already injured back.

  • @catapam my suggestion is to work with someone who understands the way your muscles work together, who is willing to work slowly with you to find what your issues are, and of course to listen to your body. Having someone that studied pilates train me helped me with my form because I could no longer feel that my posture was so poor and I couldn't feel myself out of alignment. My trainer specifically states tat she can help people with back pain, and that is somethinganyone would need to discuss with a new trainer.
